HPAN Supports Local Shelter

In early October 2014, the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter suffered a devastating loss due to a distemper outbreak. They lost all of the dogs that were in the shelter, as well as some in foster care, and some that had recently been adopted. The shelter lost not only half of the reasons they come to work each day, but they also lost supplies needed for taking care of the animals. Like a phoenix, the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter is rising from the ashes and has made strides in coming back better and stronger than ever before. We partnered with a shelter volunteer who wanted to do something to help. She organized the fundraiser, and we helped promote it and collected the funds. A total of $827.80 was raised, and HPAN presented the entire amount to the shelter in November for their vaccination fund.
