HPAN Donates to Local Shelter

The Oak Ridge Animal Shelter is undergoing a makeover.  How does this help animals, you ask?  Well, it is a well-known fact that if a shelter is welcoming and presentable, it draws in more visitors and more animals are adopted.  Since this makeover began, the shelter has been bustling with volunteer activity and has seen a HUGE increase in pet adoption.  HPAN wanted to get in on the action, so we thought a donation would be appropriate when we heard they were in need of a new dog washtub, which costs $750.  We offered up $400 and the rest was met by private donations.  This frees up other money for more paint and even needed vaccines.  Pictured is Amy, with HPAN, and Julie, Oak Ridge Shelter Director.
