Homeward Bound Dog Rescue

Helping Paws Animal Network recently sent $150 to Homeward Bound Dog Rescue.  One of the founders of Homeward Bound, based in New York, moved to Lenoir City two years ago and saves dogs in our area, takes care of vetting, and sends them to the New York rescue when they are ready for adoption.  They are one of the few rescues around here that take in pregnant moms.  Recently, they took in two that both had litters within two weeks apart (pictures of puppies above).  They will end up spending a lot of money to vet the puppies before they are ready for adoption, and then they will have the moms spayed.  Homeward Bound also takes in dogs with special medical needs.  We were happy to offer help right when they needed it most!
