Sammie was a recent owner surrender and was rescued by Melissa White. Sammie was flea infested, had intestinal parasites, and was not thriving. Melissa had her treated, vaccinated, and spayed on a Wednesday.
The following Saturday Sammie started getting sick, and by Sunday she was weak and couldn’t even keep water down.
The emergency clinic diagnosed Sammie with parvo. She underwent treatment and was placed in isolation. Sammie transferred to the Anderson County Animal Hospital and has made great strides; she’s back in foster care with Melissa’s family and has a long life ahead of her. Helping Paws contributed to Sammie’s care by helping pay for the veterinarian fees.
